Radiohead Albums, In Order
As could be expected, I have been listening to quite a lot of Radiohead in the past few weeks.
And since we were graced with a new album in the past week, I felt it was time to update the rankings of Radiohead albums. In My Opinion.
- OK Computer
- Hail to the Thief
- Kid A
- The Bends
- Amnesiac
- Pablo Honey
Hail to the Thief may be enjoying a bump in the rankings since it is the newest release, but I’ve ranked and re-ranked all the tracks on these six albums, and I think that HTTT may stand at #2.
Numbers 3, 4, and 5 are really tough. Not only is The Bends and Kid A/Amnesiac the complete opposite ends of the spectrum, I think they are all strong albums. Kid A is getting the bump up for marking the point at which the band proved they could completely reinvent themselves, still sound like Radiohead, and still put out a wonderful record.
I’d love to hear some opinions, let me know-
i saw radiohead live in belgium this year, at a festival, they were amazing. when they played the national anthem everyone loved it and recognized it even to many belgians do not know radiohead. it was also great the way they ended with karma police. All of there albums are great to listen to, the all define a mood. kid A, is a kinda happy mood, hail to the thief is a mix of all the other albums. i think radiohead are great.
i am a relatively new fan of radiohead as i have only been listening to them since a friend of mine bought httt. i used to like them and my love has now been rekindled. in my opinion the bends is their best album although i have not yet heard kid-a.
Radiohead has been somewhat of a religion for me lately. I listen to them driving, thinking, drawing, writing, walking, everywhere. I have 13 seperate albums (including imports and LPs) and I challenge your ranking system (again, even though its pure opinion). Here’s my list:
1)OK Computer (just like yours!)
2)Pyramid Song LP (it has the most incredible piano part I have heard in my lifetime)
3)The Bends (revolutionary, intrigueingly eerie)
4)Hail to the Thief (pure, heartfelt, deep)
5)Amnesiac (different even for Radiohead)
6)Pablo Honey (original, classical, beautiful)
My list would include others as well, and from day to day they seem to fluxuate. Each morning that I wake up, there is a specific track from a specific album that sums up all my emotions, my energy, my drive, my soul, and my mental condition. Without Radiohead, music today would be overrun with Brittany Anybody’s and Kornmouth Emo-crap…anyone who appreciates music should admire the revolutionary patterns and complete disregard for popular culture and contemporary society that Radiohead portrays in each and every beautiful song. Thanks for listening to my speel.
