Fahrenheit 9/11

We just returned from the movie theatre, and the movie was excellent.

It has further cemented my views on Bush, Oil, Republicans, Iraq and the war. You could say I read a lot, and I think I am fairly well informed, so I was well aware of any trickery that Mr. Moore may have tried to pull. But you know what? All of what you have read has been a bunch of hot air. The video will speak for itself.

Basically, if you vote for Bush, do not tell me. I will have a hard time believing that you are sane. In the meantime leading up to the election, I will do everything I can to convince any repubicans in the house that for once, you must not vote for Bush.

Ok, so we just saw the movie. I’ll second that motion, if anyone I know is thinking that they’ll vote for Bushy, they should DEFINITELY not tell me because not only will I question their sanity, but also because I just might be forced to not like them anymore – as they must stand for oh so many things I detest.

You don’t need any facts, then? Moore’s central arguments have been totally gutted by Slate, Richard Clarke and countless others. Guess it’s not the truth that matters, but the FEELING. Get ready for 4 more years of Bush– you’re bringing him back with your inaccurate statements that will not stand up under debate.

I’ve read the Slate article you mention, as well as the comments that Richard Clarke authorized the flights out himself. (Mentioned within the same article)

The Slate article brings up a lot of good points. I don’t agree with all of it, for example, I think Bush’s connections with the Saudi’s do matter. I will happily post the link, though: Unfahrenheit 9/11 The movie was made and released before the revelation that Richard Clarke authorized the flights was released. While I appreciate Richard Clarke’s candor and insight on various subjects (if you noticed, his book is on my recently read list to the right over there), doesn’t make him necessarily right all the time. Was he right to authorize those flights? Who knows?

Regardless, if you keep in perspective all things, you’ll be much better off. Facts when looked at from various perspectives will come out looking very different sometimes. Whether it’s Christopher Hitchens, Michael Moore, or whoever.

What I see from my perspective, is Bush saying one thing and doing another. I see a horrible record on the enviroment, on the economy, on foreign relations. I see an extremely dangerous precedent or pre-emptive war. Something America has NEVER done.

You’re saying that only FEELING is what matters to me, not truth. Tell that to the Bush Administration. What was the rationale for going to war? Al-Qaeda? WMD? Saddam is bad? America is safer? Who knows, all that matters is what was able to get enough people to FEEL we should go to war, not the actual truth behind it.
