Hockey

The most interesting thing about the Minnesota Wild game I attended tonight was the moment when two players started fighting.

The crowd immediately rose to its feet! Every blow was appreciated. Even the kids were in on the action, cheering, screaming, watching their parents cheer and scream.

I know all of this because as I sat, bewildered, watching the video screen above.

The same video screen that had just 3 minutes prior carried a public service message from the Minnesota Youth Hockey Association about, basically, keeping the game friendly for the kids. So more kids play.

Hmm.

Oh, and the Wild won, 6-1.

Thought I’d see some comments about Rove. Harriet. 2,000 dead in Iraq. Nope. I get Hockey.

But I’ll comment anyway. I always do. Hockey is just not fun to watch. Discuss if you like, but I can show you statistics that show hockey to be below football, baseball, basketball, and youth soccer.

I too am curious about the lack of responses to current events… Did your TV break? Are you not allowed on the intarweb at work anymore? Did you hurt your fingers in a freak frisbee accident??

AJ and Sonja don’t believe in TV anymore and it has been banished from the household. Believe me, I know from experience…
